• Like many of us in the hobby started with pigeons at a younger age.  I had them first at age 10 as a young kid in southern California when I helped an injured wild pigeon back to health.   I had it cooped up in a playhouse my dad made for us.    When it had escaped and flew  back in the next day, I was amazed and fascinated with this bird and my obsession had started and hooked for life.   I am now 66  and have various  fancy and flying breed of   pigeons.  The picture on right (early 70's) is me holding a pure white roller pigeon at age 16.    I still have the same breed.      Ever since my childhood I had them except when I went into the military for a 7 year absence of them.    So for now,  I  will have them until the end of time, or can  no longer take care of them.    Below left is a pic of my son and I in Chicago Field Museum  early    80's
